Shelly asked:

I want to cloth diaper full time, but we are on a very tight budget and I need to know which cloth diapers are the cheapest and where to buy them. Does anybody know? I want to go all-organic if possible. Where can I buy the cheapest yet most natural cloth diapering supplies?

What baby formula is the highest quality and best tasting on the market. Are organic formulas better?

I am looking for what could be considered the “best” baby formula. The best meaning the best for the baby including ingredients, recipe, quality, and taste. Also are organic formulas that claim to not contain growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics etc actually worth it. Your opinions are appreciated. Thanks

What is the best and most valuable infant formula - we’d like to stay organic?

We can’t breastfeed and I’m astonished at all the ingredients in the infant formulas??? I’m not sure what they all are. A doctor told me that non-organic formulas are just as good as the organic ones and to use them because they are cheaper. But they sure have a longer list on ‘can’t-pronounce-ums’ in the ingredient lists.

Do you know of any good all natural/organic brands? Any great websites with deals?

Anybody tried different organic baby formulas for fussy baby?

I have a fussy baby who doesn’t take well to the formulas he’s on. I’ve tried a few - and with Nestle Good Start he did okay but ended up screaming after two weeks, and he’s slightly better or Enfamil Gentlease. The next step doc’s say is Nutramigen, but that just kills me to do that to my child! Has anyone been through this and tried organic that worked? Or, at least tried different organic formulas?

My 5 month old son is solely breast fed and I am looking for advice on when he does move to solids the best way to introduce foods? I really do not want to start with rice or oatmeal or bananas. I am looking more for people who puree their own vegetables to give their baby the best nutrients and organic friendly foods! Any books or websites would be helpful too! Thanks in advance!

Similac Organic’s third ingredient is “organic sugar.” Similac Sensitive’s first and second ingredient are: Corn Syrup Solids and Sugar. Should I be concerned that these formulas are mostly sugar? If anyone has been using these products please let me know how your baby reacted to them. Thanks!

I’m really fond of the Nature’s Purest line at Babies R US because it’s organic. But so far it’s got more bad than good reviews. Are the organic furnitures better for babies?

Which is healthier: Organic baby food from jars or homemade food made out of conventionally grown ingredients?

Linotte asked:

I am asking this because sometimes I can’t find organic fruits, vegetables or meats in the stores. Or sometimes I can find them but they are so expensive that the baby food jars–even organic ones–turn out being significantly cheaper. What is your opinion of the healthier option?
Total Recipe Hound: No, what I meant is that sometimes I can’t find the organic ingredients to make the baby food at home. Gerber food is always available. But if Gerber is always made out of organic ingredients, then why do they have a separate organic line?

Jennifer C asked:

We feed our daughter organic foods only as I have heard that babies are not able to handle the pesticides which are found in normal fruits/veggies. However, how long should she only eat organic and when is it safe to try nonorganic.
She is now 9 months old.

I am about to have my first baby and I think I might be becoming one of those paranoid new moms who reads into everything she hears. I need to use cloth diapers to avoid dioxin, an organic mattress to avoid flame retardant chemicals, etc. Does anyone know what the most important items for the baby are that need to be organic? I do not have the sort of budget that will allow me to go 100% organic. Any suggestions?
