Once a cow is no longer able to produce milk at a volume that the dairy wants, they are sold to a cow-killing company where they are butchered and turned into Big Macs. Once a cow is no longer able to produce milk at a volume that the dairy wants, they are sold to a cow-killing company where they are butchered and turned into Big Macs.

Also, males are not needed for production of milk, so one or two are kept for breeding purposes but the vast majority will also be killed as it would be a "waste of resources" to keep them alive.
