JenniDavis asked: I am interested in starting an organic garden. I would like to start now or shortly. I want to start with just a vegetable or two and do more as time goes on. What vegetable can I plant now or in the next couple of months? Anything?

Paste asked: I know I want to grow peppermint(for the oil) and aloe vera(for the gel)
What else should I use. I want to all be organic and the fertiliser needs to be organic too, Do you know a good fertiliser?
What plants should I grow? (I need some for colds and headaches)
Where can I buy seeds? and how should I care for my garden?
Can I leave it outside, water it everyday and use fertilizer and let nature do the rest?

I recently had an old wooden house i purchased torn down. the city refilled the large hole which is approximately 3 feet deep with useless light brown dirt and large granite white rocks. I would like to create a fruit and vegetable organic garden. My plan is to remove twelve inches of the top layer and replace it with some new soil hummus, manure and top soil. do you think this is a good plan?

I’m planning on starting my own organic garden, I’ve never been successful at growing much. My strawberries always get eaten by bugs. I’m pretty sure we have good soil here, (I live in washington), but I’m not sure how to keep pest out.
May I add that I’m not an experienced gardener so helpful answers are appreciated, instead of rude sarcasm. Thanks!
