What organic vegetable can I start growing now in southern VA?
JenniDavis asked:
I am interested in starting an organic garden. I would like to start now or shortly. I want to start with just a vegetable or two and do more as time goes on. What vegetable can I plant now or in the next couple of months? Anything?

Onion sets, potato starters, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli…cold weather veggies. Start tomatoes, lettuce, etc. inside for now. ~ Floridian“

You will have to educate yourself about the basic principal behind organics before you grow anything. There are no organic vegetables, they are grown organically which basically means with out any chemicals. You can grow anything plant and/or animal with this method.Find yourself someone in your area that grows organically and start asking questions. Volunteer to work with them for a season and then you may know enough to start your own organic garden. It can take several years just for your garden space to be certified organic and that has to happen before anything you grow there is considered organic. Tex
