Certified organic farms first appeared in the USA in 1978 and 79 as those are the first years that organic farming was codified but there were 50+ different certifiers, each with their own take on organic farming regulations. In 2002 the USDA took over organics with a national rule and all farms certified organic in the USA for the first time all followed the same regulations. It was really after 2002 that the multinational corporations started producing organic foods, mainly by buying out small organic food companies.

all these webs sites have lots of information about organic food and farming Ohiorganic

Um. Organic products have been produced in American since prehistoric times. It's only in the last hundred years or so that there has been such a thing as NON-organic products.

I don't know what you mean by "product manufacturing" ... and how much do they pay for *what*, exactly? What is the "it" in your sentence? rtfm
